Trading Systems Engineer

As Trading Systems Engineer at Da Vinci, you will be working closely with small team of highly skilled people. You will be responsible for our trading systems, making sure they run smoothly in day-to-day operations, with future growth in mind. Our trading systems are highly customized, balancing stability with ongoing change is one of the key challenges in this job. Our engineers often have to learn on the go, so we are looking for people that enjoy exploring territory that they are not familiar with.

Responsibilities:

• Taking care of system performance, stability and uptime
• Automating the environment and testing new technology fads
• Architecting, implementing, maintaining and monitoring our rapidly growing intercontinental production environment
• Being in control of not only “what” is running in production, but also “how” these production systems are behaving
• Addressing potential failures and bottlenecks long before they have a chance of hurting the firm

Requirements:

• Experience managing mission critical trading infrastructure and trading software support
• Intimate knowledge of networking, hardware, OSes (Windows, Linux)
• Familiar with tooling and best practices regarding change, life cycle and incident management, as well as health and performance monitoring of production systems
• Proficient with scripting (bash, python, …)
• Quick on analysing issues and finding root causes
• Eager to learn more and to deeply understand all aspects of Trading environment
• Identifying and removing complexity where possible
• Strong communications skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
