Trading Infrastructure Engineer

As Trading Infrastructure Engineer, you will be working closely with a fun team of highly skilled, smart and dedicated traders, developers and operation engineers in order to optimize and design a robust network infrastructure and to improve our live trading environment. You’ll work on optimising our trading infrastructure with the flexibility to be creative in your solution designs.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy a robust and efficient network to facilitate our low latency trading infrastructure
• Manage data centre equipment e.g., server rack installation
• Maintain our low-latency Linux-based trading infrastructure
• Automate, standardise and document IT processes to optimise work structures
• Implement network monitoring solutions to have full visibility of the network status
• Develop and enact contingency plans and provide support to our teams
• Performance monitoring and system capacity management
• Ensure the trading infrastructure is in a consistent and predictable state at the beginning of each trading day
• Configure and install IT hardware as workstations e.g., typical desk set-up, installing screens, mouses, keyboards and Windows OS

Requirements:

• Ability to adapt to the specific IT needs of our organization (low latency, high performance, redundancy, and high availability)
• Knowledge of opensource monitoring and configuration management tools
• Knowledge of protocols as STP, IGMP, LACP, NAT, VRRP, HSRP, PIM, BGP and OSPF routing protocols
• Experience in wide area networks, branch offices, multicast routing, security devices (firewalls) and wireless networks, including knowledge of Cisco and Arista technologies
• Experience with network security best practices, IPS, network segmentation
• Experience with VPN technologies and IPSEC encryption protocol is a plus
• Knowledge of Python and/or Shell scripting
