Operational Risk Manager

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and analysing our daily trading activity to detect potentially undesirable trading patterns and following up with trading desks to ensure appropriate action is taken
• Assisting in improving the functional design and logic of our market abuse surveillance systems and contributing to market abuse risk assessment
• Being an expert in our regulatory transaction reporting processes to ensure any required reports are sent to regulators/exchanges/clearing banks in an accurate, complete and timely manner and assisting in improving our systems and controls related to regulatory transaction reporting
• Interacting with clearing banks, brokers and exchanges directly to ensure the correct registration of trading activities and new traders, acting as a gatekeeper for trading access
• Being up to speed with exchange rules and requirements on trading activities and translating requirements into internal processes and policies
• Coordinating product approval processes and ensuring all required internal approvals are obtained before go-live
• Coordinating onboarding of brokers and exchanges from an operational perspective
• Writing incident reports, overseeing the incident management process and ensuring periodical reporting to management on risk and compliance incidents
• Creating and implementing operational risk and compliance monitoring tools and conducting operational risk and compliance monitoring
• Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
• Providing advisory support at the job seniority level to the business on all operational risk and compliance monitoring matters
• Assisting in the creation and delivery of training to traders and developers on exchange rules

Requirements:

• University Degree in a relevant field
• Up to 3 years of relevant experience within the financial sector
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
• Capability to write policies and process description
• Structured and effective in communication
• Affinity with financial markets and preferably derivative products (futures, options)
• Process focussed and ability to improve the control framework
• Experience with using different applications and performing data analysis
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Takes ownership, works independently and is intrinsically driven to perform at the highest standards
• Ability to act and perform successfully in a fast-moving and high-pressure environment
• Experience with programming languages is a plus
